When writing my last posting I was looking for a link to something about the Fusion Tube Map and realised I had never actually given it its own posting, so I am putting this right now.
About 2 ½ years ago the Product Development Committee of the
IOUC which I was leading at the time held quarterly calls with Fusion
Development and realised that lots of questions were being asked over and over.
We decided that although oracle.com had a great landing page
for fusion it is a marketing site and had product information,
what it doesn’t have is information on what skills you need, how to support etc
so we thought we would try and create a simple go to page.
Our
topology guru is Sten Vesterli from Denmark, Author
of Oracle ADF Enterprise Application Development, who came up with the mass transit
map and then we have worked with many people on the content behind it but a
special mention to our Fusion Warrior Floyd Teter. UKOUG kindly host the page
and content on behalf of IOUC. Although it is officially called Your Path to Understanding Fusion Applications it will always be affectionately known as the Fusion Tube Map. Which is great because Sten did design a little dance for us to do at presentations which I am glad we have forgotten.
It was launched at OOW 2 years ago and is still being shared with users, at many conferences. One of the stops on the System Admin Line is Support and that links to the first chapter of Richard Bingham's
book, and on several occasions we have been lucky enough to
have Richard in sessions talking about support now the product is live and
having copies of his book to give away, always very popular.
Feedback has been great and includes this from an Oracle VP
in an email

I hope all is well
with you. I was with a customer last week and the subject of learning paths was
very much on the table……………………………….Your graphic is exactly what they are
looking for. If I had my wits about me, I would have shown it and claimed the
work as a manifestation of my genius
