Retirements are not a bad thing

I read on LinkedIn over the weekend that Steve Miranda had retired from Oracle. It wasn't news to me, I heard a rumour a few weeks ago, reached out to Steve and he confirmed it, although there had been no official announcement.

I have worked with Steve since he took on the challenge to build Fusion Apps. I was representing user groups world wide and Steve met regularly with us to share insights and progress. When Fusion was released I had the honour to introduce his Apps keynote at Oracle Open World.

I'll miss Steve it has always been a great supporter but Chris Leone is now leading Applications and I am excited by that. Chris has been the leader in the AI adoption for oracle and I look forward to see that across all pillars. Working with Chris is always exciting.

Another recent retirement is Cliff Godwin who looked after EBS development. I have known Cliff most of my Oracle ecosystem career and my favourite memory is at an event in Dubai along with Nadia Bendjedou.

As I mentioned in my EBS updates from Ascend blog, Lisa Parekh will now lead EBS Development and I look forward to working with her.

Retirement is something to be celebrated and I still can't decide when to pull the plug on my career, I'm thinking about it, but still loving my job!
